| It turned out that Roy Rogers was the only fast-food restaurant open that day in the vicinity of Pittsburgh's Point State Park and Gateway Center, where Bicentennial activities were being held. As a result, the line of customers was non-stop and went out the door. On a typical day I'd put in about 5 hours but that Sunday it was a 12-hour day. |

| The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is trying to rename the Weather Service and Hurricane Center to add its name to the title. At the same time NOAA is spending $4 million on a bicentennial celebration, critical research funding including all NWS money for hurricane research flights is being cut. |
